Mini Soccer Clubs
Our mini-kicker clubs are a fun introduction to our fabulous game, learning through play but, at the same time, incorporating social interaction with peers. Techniques, skills and rules of the game are introduced in a 'low key' style but our ultimate aim is for the children to have fun whilst in our care. Building a solid foundation is paramount to our programme to enable our young players to happily make the transition to our soccer schools when the time is right. Mini-kickers courses are available to boys and girls aged 3-5 years old, and are specifically designed for beginners.
Saturday Morning Clubs
Saturday Morning Clubs and leisure centre programmes are available to players who want to train and keep fit during term-time. We offer a variety of courses, ranging from mini kickers to intermediate and advanced sessions. We also run Saturday morning pay and play sessions for those of you who are unable to commit to the structure of course. In addition to these courses, we have recently introduced girls-only training sessions.
Extra Curricular Clubs
Argyle Community Trust's extra-curricular clubs use the power of Plymouth Argyle FC to engage each participant throughout each session.
Each week is themed around a technique, for example, shooting or dribbling, where the children will learn the techniques through a series of skill development drills and fun games that challenge their learning.
To help promote the after school / lunch time club, the Argyle Community Trust can provide a free assembly delivered by our staff and our mascot Pilgrim Pete will come along to help. This has proved popular with many schools and the impact of the assembly on numbers attending the course has often meant that we have had to provide additional members of staff to meet the demand.
To make the club a safe, fun learning environment, we ask for each club to have a minimum of 12 participants and a maximum of 18 per coach. This, we feel, makes the club enjoyable for all.
After School Clubs
These run for an hour after school and are normally booked in half-term blocks. Each club is arranged to start after school finishes, to allow the pupils enough time to change. The Community Trust ensures safety is at the forefront of all activities. Our staff ensure that a signing-out register is completed and that they are the last person to leave the sessions.
All coaches have a minimum of an FA Level 2 coaching qualification and hold a valid Enhanced CRC Disclosure Form, along with first aid and safeguarding certificates.
These can be either 30 minute or one hour sessions, depending on the individual school’s needs and timetable. We ask that the children have time to eat after the club.
These run from 8.00am for 45 minutes prior to schools starting morning registration. Sessions are based in school and are designed around fundamentals and healthy living.
