Development Centres

imageARGYLE Community Trust  runs a weekly progression centre offering training sessions for both club and non-club players using the Plymouth Argyle coaching methodology for developing individual skills and match play.

The practices used will encourage creativity and use problem-solving to challenge player awareness.

All players will be considered for progression to Long Term Player Development Centres and Advanced Development Centres. These will be by invitation only. Each player will be monitored for the nearest Advanced Training Centre.

Coaches will concentrate on a particular theme each week, such as attacking skills, defensive tactics and a lot more, while we also incorporate small-sided games with conditions that reflect the weekly topic.

The Game Plan
• Warm-up and agility games
• Working through a structured Development Syllabus
• Improving players four cornerstones of Football: Technical, Physical, Social and Psychological.
• Small-sided matches

What to Bring?
• Football kit or tracksuit
• Shin pads (must be worn)
• Football boots and training shoes
• Plenty to drink

The progression centre is aimed at young players from 4 – 12 years old with each player positioned within their own age banding.

Tiny Tots' Centre:
Tiny Tots sessions are run by the Community Trust on weekly basis across Devon and Cornwall. They are designed for 3 – 4 year olds to learn fundamental movements and an introduction into football. The sessions are based indoors and actively encourage parent interaction.
