Intervention Works

ARGYLE Community Trust runs a number of schemes in the families’ intervention programmes, such as our Kick-Off project, which is a four-week full-time initiative.

The target audience is aimed at families who have been on incapacity benefits for over 12 months and struggle with issues such as alcohol and drug addiction.

The course enables people to come to Argyle and learn a variety of new skills that can help to build their confidence and motivation, as well as giving them some up-to-date computer skills that could lead to potential work opportunities within the city.

Kick Off course offers an intensive programme, which includes:

• Football related itinerary
• Free healthy lunch
• Financial management
• Family fit days
• Family learning
• Computer training
• Nationally recognised Literacy and Numeracy Certificate
• 1st 4 Sport Level 1 FA Coaching Badge
• Tours and insight into behind the scenes workings of a professional football club.

Volunteer mentors and work experience – we run several volunteer and work placement schemes based at the football club. Each placement lasts for 50 hours and gives people the opportunity for hands on work within the football club.
