THE Premier Cup competition for Peninsula League sides is over before it really got started for Argyle after a disappointing 3-1 home loss to Brixham.
The young Pilgrims dominated possession and passed the ball nicely on a warm day at Seale Hayne, but the visitors were able to soak up the pressure and hit Argyle with breakaway goals from Dan Rankin and Andy Deare in the first half.
Argyle kept to their possession principles but Brixham were the side with more cutting edge and it was game over when Rankin made it 3-0, with a late consolation from Fletcher Williams the only satisfaction from a dismal day.
