OUR group of friends will be volunteering and are looking for aid in renovating the Efford youth centre.

We are a group of 22 young people who have been on a summer activity project called NCS. We have gotten together and plan to help out the youth centre in Efford near Plymouth by re-painting the walls and generally brightening up the place.

We plan to purchase some furniture from fundraising and help to get word out about the youth centre encouraging others to volunteer there to keep the place in top conditions for future generations. And we’d also like your help, anyone reading this please come down talk to the staff and see what you can do to help out.

We are a group on our NCS, the National Citizens Service, a programme set up to teach kids new skills and help transition into their more independent college and university life. As part of this, we have decided to help the community and will be giving the Efford youth centre a helping hand. Our NCS was set up in association with Argyle Community Trust and their people have done a great job teaching us and giving insight to the life of University students.

If you’d like to help out the youth centre then talk to Dianne, the lead at the centre by emailing Dianne.kelly@plymouth.gov.uk

Any help you can give to the youth centre would be greatly appreciated. If you’d like to help out NCS by either volunteering to help us or by looking to promote their activity then contact wave2ncsplymouth@gmail.com

In addition, to keep up to date with our work on the Youth Centre then follow 5econd_wave on Instagram, where we’ll be posting pictures of our actions and use the #EffortIntoEfford on Twitter to share anything with us there.
