Every Tuesday a Walk & Talk session is delivered in Central Park which aims to reduce isolation and increase activity levels amongst older people. The walk regularly sees around 30 people attend and we meet outside Plymouth Life Centre just before 10.30am if you would like to join.
The walk is followed by a Compassionate Café at Central Park Community Sports Hub between 11am – 1pm. The Café is delivered in partnership with St. Luke’s Hospice and is a community-led movement run by Compassionate Friends to reach out to members of the community that are experiencing loss, bereavement or maybe affected by life limiting illness themselves. If anyone feels as though they need someone to talk to, they can sit down and chat over a cup of tea and cake. Compassionate Friends aren’t there to give official advice, but they are there to offer support, company and to lend a friendly ear.
Both the walk and Café are free to attend and there is no need to book beforehand. For more information please email ben.kerswell@pafc.co.uk.
