THE scholars in Argyle Community Trust’s education programme came from behind to defeat Helston in the English Schools FA Cup on Wednesday.
On a difficult and bumpy pitch, the youngsters fell behind in the early stages but pulled level on the stroke of half-time with a fine goal from captain Fletcher Williams, finishing neatly at the back post.
Argyle took control after the break and a terrific performance from striker Connor Rush was capped by the winning goal, muscling his way past the defence to earn an excellent win.
The competition is regional at this stage and the youngsters will take on Torquay Academy in the next round.
