Ladies Showing IntentPLYMOUTH Argyle Ladies are rivalling their male counterparts in terms of new recruits after an extremely busy summer of recruitment.

The Ladies have retained 12 members of the squad from last season, including talismanic captain Katie Middleton, vice-captain Becky Atkins, who scored in the win over Marine Academy Plymouth to secure the Devon FA County Cup back in May.

Mollie Taylor and Dani Salt also scored in that thrilling 3-2 victory at Coach Road, and both players are among those staying for the new campaign. Goalkeeper Michaela Phillips has also signed and we are boosted by the return to fitness of Kayley Lane.

We are also very excited to have signed Dani Barr from Exeter City Ladies and four former Yeovil Town Players, Nicola Brown, Jessie Boston, Ebony Dover and Amber Guy-Kemp.

“I am delighted in the signings I have made, it shows the intent and how serious we are in being successful next season,” said manager Dave Leonard. “The new signings have already shown in pre-season training what they can bring to this football club and I am very excited to get started.”

Officials from Plymouth Argyle are in further discussions with a number of other players, as we build our squad to represent the club in the FA Women's Premier League and Devon Women's League.

The club has placed an ethos in youth, as five of the 15 signed are aged between 16 and 21 years old and the creation of our new reserve squad provides these talented footballers with regular football, and a clear pathway to the top.

If any player aged between 16 and 21 would like to attend training as we continue to formalise our squad, please contact club secretary Andrew Bellamy on andrewbellamy68@me.com
