GE DIGITAL CAMERAARGYLE Community Trust celebrated the National Citizen Service Graduation Ceremony last week at the Plymouth City Guildhall.

This glittering event was an opportunity for all our graduates to join up with their family and friends to celebrate a summer of achievement. We were delighted to complete 195 graduates on the scheme this year.

The ceremony was a chance for the graduates to showcase their NCS journey and the work experience gained over the summer. The graduates have raised almost £3,000 for charities across Plymouth, adding valuable skills to their educational CV.

It was a great occasion and an opportunity for the Argyle Community Trust to congratulate these young people for their attitude and application, demonstrating the huge potential in the youth of Plymouth.

Argyle Community Trust worked in partnership with City College Plymouth to run the NCS Programme. The NCS project sees local Year 11 school-leavers engage in a summer-long project, aimed at creating community-wide volunteers. The project is made up of two week-long residential stays, encouraging participants to experience independent living, whilst gaining valuable life skills.

After the two week-long residential trips, each participant will learn valuable work-specific skills and qualifications during a planning week at Home Park Stadium. It is throughout this time each participant has the chance to improve their CV by gaining accreditations which will help them to deliver a local community Social Action Project (SAP).

Well done to all involved.
