Richard Luscombe We are delighted to announce that entry is now open for the third annual Argyle Community Trust ‘Green Army’ 5k Fun Run, sponsored by Arthrosamid by Contura Orthopaedics and Practice Plus Group – raising money for Play Off Grief, a sport-and-support project for children and young people experiencing loss of a loved one, in collaboration with Jeremiah’s Journey.
This year promises to be the biggest and best yet:
- The finish line is INSIDE The Theatre of Greens – Home Park Stadium!
- Each finisher will receive a special medal and t-shirt
- Meet Pilgrim Pete and have your photo taken with him at the finish line
- Spectators, friends, and family are welcome along the route, and in the Beacon Electrical Mayflower Stand
- Most importantly, you will be raising money to support vulnerable children and young people in the city
The five-kilometre (just over three mile) run will begin in Central Park on Sunday, 15 November and is open to everyone over the age of 11 of any running ability. Runners and families are encouraged to wear green, or dress up in your favourite costume, and are particularly encouraged to have loads of fun!
Runner registration begins from 7am at the Biffa Fan Zone outside Home Park Stadium, with the fun run starting at 9am.
Refreshments will be available for family and friends throughout the day, making this an event for everyone!
Entry is £5 per runner; we then ask that you raise a minimum of £35 in sponsorship with all money going to Play Off Grief.

Play Off Grief launched earlier this year at The Hub at Foulston Park, Devonport, bringing leading Plymouth-based charities Argyle Community Trust and Jeremiah’s Journey together for a pioneering project to support children and young people navigating the complexities of bereavement.
Since launching the programme has provided 242 hours of targeted support, across 121 attendances and 11 sessions to girls and boys aged six to 14.
