North Devon LTPDYOUNGSTERS from the Long-Term Player Development (LTPD) enjoyed an evening of high intensity, competitive football at the end of May, as Okehampton LTPD hosted a series of matches against their neighbours from Holsworthy LTPD.

It was terrific to see these talented footballers implement a number of the technical and tactical training sessions provided by Argyle Community Trust in a genuine game environment.

Scouts from the Plymouth Argyle Academy attended the evening, keeping tabs on promising young players from across the North Devon region.

“This evening was an opportunity for me and my coaches to step back and let the players do what they do best: play football in a competitive environment,” said Football Development Officer Bobby Hopkinson.

“I was really pleased with the effort and commitment both sets of players and parents showed. The quality of the matches and the high standard the players played at was a credit to both centres.

“The most encouraging part of the evening was that both sets of players were able to play with no pressure and enjoy themselves. It was a joy to watch.

“The evening was a great success and I am looking forward to organising an LTPD training day in the summer…watch this space.”
