Rami Al Hajj and Fern Orchard have been announced as Argyle’s PFA Community Champions for the 2024/25 season.
The Community Champion award celebrates the impact players have on their local community and recognises the time they put in to making a difference in other people’s lives.
The awards highlight players who have made their work with communities and good causes central to their role as a footballer.
Both Al Hajj and Orchard have gone the extra mile when it comes to community engagement this season.
Swedish midfielder Al Hajj’s nomination comes off the back of his incredible interaction with the young participants at the annual Christmas Cracker event, alongside going above and beyond with our match-day mascots.
Argyle Women’s forward Orchard’s award is a result of the outstanding number of community appearances and events she has undertaken this season, including the Green Army 5K Fun Run, the Christmas Cracker, Plymouth Christmas Lights, Derriford Hospital appearances, ACT School Visits, and match-day signing sessions.

Speaking on receiving his award, Al Hajj said: “Ever since I joined Argyle last summer, I realised quickly how much the football club means to the local community and how much both the club and trust do.
“I have loved the various events I have attended with fans, and love the smiles we can put on people’s faces as footballers.
“I am really grateful to receive this award and look forward to continuing to contribute moving forward.”
Adding to Al Hajj’s words, Orchard said: “The fans have been brilliant this season, so it has been such a rewarding feeling to show our appreciation and give back to them through different community events.
“Coming through the player pathway here at Argyle, I’ve got many good memories, and I’m so glad to have contributed to these events this season.
“I’m really grateful to have been selected for this award and hope to continue participating in other events down the line and giving back to our community.”

Argyle Community Trust CCO, Jason Chapman, said: “We’d like to say a massive congratulations to Rami and Fern for winning these awards.
“Both players are thoroughly deserving of these accolades, given their outstanding and energetic engagement when it comes to giving back to the community.
“Whenever Rami or Fern are attending a community event, they go above and beyond with participants, which is a testament to both of their characters.
“They are always willing to lend a helping hand, and we are incredibly grateful for their support here at Argyle Community Trust.
PFA CEO Maheta Molango said: “The PFA has once again been immensely proud of the outstanding efforts of players this season and we feel they should be recognised for their support and involvement in the local community.
“The award will hopefully raise awareness of the importance many of our members attach to their roles off the pitch and highlight their continued commitment to support those most in need, along with engaging in areas where they have a personal interest.
“We would like to offer our congratulations to this season’s recipients of the 2024/25 PFA Community Champion Award.”
