We are delighted to announce that the team at SW Law have once again offered their incredible support to the community work of the Trust by becoming headline sponsors of our Charity Golf Day for the second year running.
This year’s event will be held on Friday, 21 July at China Fleet Golf and Country Club and is anticipated to be even bigger and better than last year. Money raised will go to support the amazing work of Project 35, Argyle’s ground-breaking community social impact project, in partnership with Ginsters, aimed at reducing poverty in Devon and Cornwall.
As the official charity of Plymouth Argyle, we rely on the generosity of partners and sponsors to allow us to carry out some of the life-changing work we do in the community every day – breaking barriers to participation and improving the life chances of those in need.
Money raised from last year’s golf day, through the generosity of SW Law and other sponsors, created new opportunities for young people to attend a disability session for free. A few weeks after the event, SW Law Director Rob Cowsill visited a Powerchair Football provision – one of many disability sessions to have benefited directly from the money.
Rob said: “It was really pleasing to see the benefits of the Trust Charity Golf Day up close at the Powerchair Football – to see the time spent and the money contributed to the day, put to work creating opportunities for the local community. Is there anything more satisfying than making someone else smile!?”
Trust Fundraising and Events Officer Matt White said: “We are thankful to have Rob and SW Law back on board as Headline Sponsor of our annual Charity Golf Day and thank them for their incredible continued support.
“Last year’s event was a great success, with some excellent golf being played (as well as plenty of questionable golf!), and over £10,000 raised for Argyle Community Trust’s disability provisions. The event simply couldn’t have gone ahead if it wasn’t for Rob, his wonderful team, and their support of the community work we do throughout the Southwest.
“I’d like to say thank you to SW Law again for getting involved in the 2023 event, which promises to be even better than last year, as we look to raise vital funds for Project 35 and our fight against poverty.”
