THERE is less than a month to go until the Co-op celebrate the latest payout of the Local Community Fund on Saturday, November and Argyle Community Trust will be right in the mix.

The specific section of the Trust to benefit from this exciting partnership will be our Ability Counts squad, as we seek to improve opportunities and access for footballers with a disability.

To kick-start each cause’s fund, we were allocated a share of the funding from carrier bag sales. After this, every time a member buys Co-op own brand products and services, 1% of what they spend is put into their account to give to a local cause. The amount Argyle Community Trust receives depends on how many members choose us as their selected cause.

If a member doesn’t choose a cause, their 1% is split between the causes in the local community at the end of the six months. The money will be raised between April and October 2017. We then receive the funds within six weeks of the funding period closing.

Our local Co-op is in the Peverell area of Plymouth, PL3 4NA and customers have already raised £500, with the hope of reaching £1,000.
