IT was another close encounter for Plymouth Argyle Cornwall, who suffered their second defeat of the season, losing 2-0 to Southampton FC.
After a sluggish start, we were two goals down in the early stages of the match. Southampton enjoyed playing with the wind in the first half creating numerous chances. Ryan Barnes made some fantastic saves to keep the score going into the half time break still at 2–0.
In the second half, Argyle made the stronger start. This time playing with the wind, the Southampton goalkeeper was a lot busier but, with echoes of last week’s game against Portsmouth, we couldn’t quite break the deadlock. A good learning curve for the players with lots of positives to take into next week’s away fixture at Swindon.
The Plymouth Argyle SP drew 1-1 at Chelsea and a first point of the season in a very good game of football. The Pilgrims performed brilliantly and took the lead with a Ewan Morgan tap-in following some great work by man of the match Jack Rhead in the build up.
We carried on applying the pressure and causing problems, but a team reshuffle after an injury to Josh Freeman-Wright and Chelsea struck back with an equaliser that stemmed from their only real attack of the game. Meanwhile, Plymouth Argyle SC drew 0-0 at home to Watford.
