ARGYLE Community Trust will today be in the front line of delivering a special initiative for our partnership schools in the Premier League Writing Stars competition.

As part of National Poetry Day, we will be joining schools across the region to launch a national poetry competition under the banner of Premier League Writing Stars.

The competition will run all the way through the autumn term and we are working with pupils from Year 1 – Year 6 in Primary School, as they work on a 150-word poem based on the theme ‘Resilience’, Using the title of Try, Try Again. You might recognise the title from the poem used in our TV advert for Premier League Primary Stars – it encourages children to work hard and to never give up, and these are themes that run through this programme.
