TWO wins and a draw for the Plymouth Argyle squads involved in the National Youth Football League last week.
The Cornwall programme hosted a well organized MK Dons, recovering from conceding two goals in the opening five minutes and a 3-1 deficit at half-time to earn a 3-3 draw.
Coach Jamie Day praised the character of his team, with goals coming from Scott McElwee and a Ben Gibbs double. Every player involved performed well on the day but a special mention to Ross Williams for a fine display.
The Argyle SC squad based at Home Park beat Fulham 1-0, thanks to a delightful free-kick from Fabian Johnson-Ewers on eight minutes.
Jack Langford also hit the post in a strong first period for the Pilgrims and there were more chances to extend the lead after the break. It was still a deserving victory and thanks to St Blazey FC for hosting the game on their superb pitch.
It was a comfortable day for the Argyle A side, sweeping past Brighton and Hove Albion with a 6-1 success. The goals came from Joe Lewis, Ben Musslewhite, Reece Thompson, Caleb Summerfield and a Ewan Morgan brace.
