Rounded and Argyle Community Trust kick off partnership to empower next generation of female footballers

The partnership between Rounded and Argyle Community Trust has officially begun its mission to inspire young female athletes, distributing the first wave of bespoke footballs to participants across the city this February.

The first giveaway took place during February half-term, where staff presented Rounded’s iconic, design-led footballs to young players who had demonstrated exceptional growth or had overcome their own personal challenges.

A key focus of the initiative is inclusivity, with several footballs gifted during Argyle4Autism sessions. These sessions provide a tailored, safe environment for young people diagnosed with or awaiting an autism diagnosis – groups that frequently face social hurdles in traditional sporting environments.

The giveaway also reached the rescheduled Women’s Christmas Cracker Roadshow, where aspiring players trained alongside their heroes from the Plymouth Argyle Women’s first team. To receive a football in an environment surrounded by professional female role models made the moment even more powerful.

Rounded, the home of design led, gift boxed footballs, partnered with the Trust at the end of 2025 to supercharge a shared mission to empower and inspire the next generation of female footballers. The company focuses on inspiring young girls and removing the barriers that may be faced so that all young girls can enjoy the beautiful game, with a focusing on style and inclusivity.

“Seeing the joy on the girls’ faces when they receive a ball of their own is exactly why I started Rounded,” said Kate, Founder of Rounded. “Our goal is to combine style with substance, giving every girl the spark she needs to step onto the pitch.

“By partnering with the Trust, we’re ensuring that our footballs reach those that will benefit from them the most.”

Director of Business and Impact at the Trust, Dwain Morgan, added: “We are delighted to see the immediate impact this partnership. We have a long and proud history of breaking barriers to participation and supporting female players in the region with a pathway from age three all the way to Plymouth Argyle Women.

“We look forward to watching the partnership grow and see the smiling faces as the partnership grows.”
