The 12-week programme, funded by Healthy Cornwall, uses the power of football to create a safe, fun, and competitive environment to help participants keep fit, lose weight, and stay active.
Individuals or teams, of all abilities, are welcome to sign up to the unique football league, where goals can be scored before a ball is even kicked! To incentivise and reward your achievements your team could be 2.0 up prior to the big kick-off depending on weight loss recorded that week!
Argyle Fit is aimed at men over the age of 35, with a BMI of over 28. Sessions start week commencing Monday 13th September and are running at venues across Cornwall – Launceston College, Bodmin Leisure Centre, Cornwall College, Brannel School, and Mounts Bay Academy.
Argyle Community Trust Operations Manager and Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity Lead, Jason Chapman adds, “We are delighted to be running Argyle Fit in Cornwall. The league helps to remove barriers to participation and offers a fantastic competitive, but immensely fun environment to help participants reach their weight loss goals, whilst having fun and playing a team sport with mates.”
