STUDENTS on the second wave of our USA Tour enjoyed a magnificent week in the States, sampling life in American homes and universities, as well as winning a couple of football matches.
The scholars are part of the Argyle Community Trust Football Education programme, which is run in partnership with Sir John Hunt Community Sports College.
The boys have played games against Penn Fusion, which they won 2-0 with goals from Travis Skerton and Morgan Parsonage. They played a Ukrainian side and won 5-0, goals from Reece Brown x 2, Travis Skerton, Fletcher Cook and Declan Hathaway. We played Continental and lost 5-1, scoring a penalty by Fletcher Cook.
Check out this wonderful free-kick from Fletcher Cook.
The scholars also watched a match between Villa Nova College and James Madison University, which includes Argyle coach Josh Grant among their alumni.
In terms of sightseeing, the scholars have taken in West Chester University, Philadelphia Flyers NHL team, the Empire State Building, Brooklyn Bridge, Times Square, the 9-11 memorial and Independence Hall in Philadelphia.
