FANTASTIC opportunity for young apprentices to start their career in sport at Plymouth Argyle.
The Royal Foundation have launched Coach Core, an innovative and exciting sports coaching apprenticeship targeting young people who wish to gain further education and employment in sport.
This apprenticeship programme will be part of Team Argyle, on their Coach Core programme. You will work towards attaining your Activity Leadership Level 2 incorporating Active Leisure for Exercise Professionals during the apprenticeship term.
This year ‘Team Argyle’ will employ young people aged 16-24 who have the potential of becoming the future sports coach.
The 20 successful candidates who demonstrate commitment and a will to want to better themselves in this sports coaching programme will then be offered year-long employment working and training for 30 hours a week on Coach Core beginning November 2017. Team Devon is made up of Plymouth Argyle Football Club, Exeter City Football Club, Devon FA and Torquay United Football Club, amongst other sports organisations.
This apprenticeship programme will provide a gateway into a career with The FA & with a professional football club, and moreover, an opportunity to gain experience in a real job within multifaceted organisations.
The roles will see the chosen candidates involved in a range of projects which are vital to the development and success of football in the county. There is the opportunity to learn how the organisations work and gain skills that will kick start a career and help you to achieve your ambitions in years to come. Professional and personal development is important to Devon FA, and we are committed to supporting on-the-job training alongside any formal qualifications. If you are looking for a challenging apprenticeship within a progressive, motivating and supportive environment, then this is the opportunity for you.
