ARGYLE Community Trust is looking to recruit an NCS Officer. The position is based within Argyle Community Trust’s Social Inclusion team, which will see the post holder undertake a number of duties on National Citizen programme.
Argyle Community Trust, based in Plymouth, have been commissioned to expand the delivery of The National Citizen Service (NCS) programme.
The NCS programme offers 16 and 17 year-olds the opportunity to build skills for future work and life. The scheme aims to bring young people from different backgrounds together to develop leadership, teamwork and communication. The skills learned through NCS are widely documented to have a positive impact on the employability skills of a young person.
The position will be based in Plymouth, however, the role will see you work in parts of Cornwall and Devon dependent on the demands of the programmes. The candidate will be expected to work evenings and weekends and have an understanding of the needs of young people.
As a registered charity, Argyle Community Trust works – in close conjunction with Plymouth Argyle Football Club – with many people across several sectors where sport has proven to be the ideal tool for creating lasting education and engagement with individuals.
The candidate must have a good understanding of the Government’s National Citizen Service programme and be able to recruit participants for the programme, lead a number of residential camps and social action projects within the role. An understanding of volunteering and organizing competitions and events is required.
The candidate must also understand the importance of monitoring and evaluation and be confident in ICT and data entry. This is a part of the role which will help develop the Trust’s reports and feedback to its multiple partners.
The post is full time and is offered on a 12 month fixed-term contract
