A TREMENDOUS game of football on the Easter weekend for Argyle Ladies and three points earned at Poole Town in a performance full of resilience and determination.
In a thrilling first half, Zoe Cunningham opened the scoring on 15 minutes for the Pilgrims but the hone side quickly levelled on the 3G surface at Dorset FA.
Cunningham struck again on the half-hour and it looked like a lead going into the interval, but Poole again showed their fighting qualities to equalise in stoppage time at the end of 45 minutes.
The winner arrived 10 minutes into the second period and the customary goal for striker Natasha Knapman. Argyle had to dig deep to hold on for the three points and valuable momentum as they head into Friday’s Devon Cup Final at Coach Road, when we take on Torquay United Ladies with a 7.15pm kick-off.
