Following sport and taking part can give us community, energy and a sense of belonging. That’s why Rainbow Laces is as important as ever, and why we all need to play our part to make sport everyone’s game.
This year, we’ll be celebrating the impact that sport has on LGBT people, and the impact that LGBT people have on sport.
Sol Taylor, who is a former participant of the Argyle Community Trust Premier League Kicks programme, spoke with Community Engagement Manager Dan Hart about his journey. Sol, who was excluded from two schools as a young person and had consistent contact and support with Devon & Cornwall Police’s Jan Bjork-Cooper. He ‘came out as a gay man when he was seventeen’ and credits PL Kicks and his peers as being a great source of support.
