A SUPERB performance from the Plymouth Argyle Football Education squad has seen us reach the semi-finals of the National Youth Cup after an exhilarating 3-0 win over Birmingham City.

The Pilgrims were bright from the start and swamped a team that had beaten us in the league earlier this season, with the opening goal arriving via a delicious 25-yard free-kick from Josh Angel-Craven.

A perfect start to the second period saw skipper Reece Thompson arrow a dipping volley over the Birmingham goalkeeper within seconds of the restart and a thunderbolt finish from Jack Rhead in the dying minutes sealed a tremendous victory.

Our other Education Squad also based at Home Park defeated Bodmin College 4-3 in a development match and congratulations to Nathan Cole for a sizzling display that saw him score all four goals.

The Cornwall Education lads went down to a 6-2 defeat at Crystal Palace. Ben Gibbs and Sonny Dover scored the Argyle goals, and a special mention to Lewis Clapham for an inspirational display.
