Manadon Sports and Community Hub will host a special day of football for our Girls Advanced Development Centre and Women’s First Team on Sunday, 24 July.
The celebration will run from 10 am until 7 pm with our friends at Swansea City providing the opposition, starting with fixtures between the Argyle and Swansea Under 12, 14, and 16 Girls Advanced Development teams. The final fixture of the day will see Argyle Women play in their first home pre-season friendly against Swansea City Ladies.
Our visitors from the Welsh Premier Women’s League will provide a stern test for the Pilgrims having been crowned league champions for the third season in a row and will face AC PAOK in the first round of the 2022/23 UEFA Women’s Champions League in the upcoming campaign.
As well as enjoying a day of competitive sport, the day will shine the spotlight on the women’s and girls’ game, with all funds raised going to support the development of the women’s team. There will also be a chance for spectators to meet the players and enjoy a barbecue and ice cream on what is set to be a glorious day at the home of the Argyle Community Trust.
Plymouth Argyle Women’s Manager and Women and Girls Lead Officer for the Argyle Community Trust Ryan Perks adds: “We are really excited to host this event and to celebrate and promote girls and women’s football in the region. The Trust and Club have a proud history of supporting inclusive sport and supporting female inclusion.
“This is a great opportunity to showcase the thriving player pathways we have here at Argyle for talented girls in the region. We have already seen players selected for England talent camps and make their England Under 16s debuts. Three girls have recently progressed from our Under 16 Advanced Development Centre to make their Argyle Women first-team debuts.
“We look forward to welcoming the community to Manadon for a great day of football, and would like to say a special thanks to the players and staff at Swansea City.”
Tickets are £5 for the whole day and are available on the gate. A barbecue and ice cream is also available on the day to purchase.

Under 12’s – 10 am
