Argyle Community Trust’s Cornwall Post 16 Football and Education programme is coming off the back of yet another incredibly successful year on and off the pitch.
Our two Cornwall sides won their respective CEFA (Community & Education Football Alliance) league titles in spectacular fashion.
Plymouth Argyle A won every single league game on their road to claiming their fifth CEFA title in as many years, whilst Plymouth Argyle B also went the distance, securing their fourth title in five years.
Throughout the course of the season, both sides continued to uphold the excellent standards set by Argyle Community Trust’s Post 16 programme.
As a result of their incredible efforts this season, both teams were rewarded with a visit to the League Two Play-Off final to receive their trophies on the hallowed turf at Wembley Stadium.

Plymouth Argyle A Manager, James Ward, said: “I would like to express how impressed I have been with the group of players we have recruited this year. The bond, team spirit and the intensity we have played at this year has been a pleasure to be a part of.
“We set our standards at the start of the year, and the boys have upheld these throughout the season. To only lose one game this year in the National Cup quarter-finals, to the team who won it overall, is something to be proud of.
“I want to thank everyone involved who has made it a successful, but more importantly, a very enjoyable season from a coach’s perspective. We look forward to going again next year!”
Plymouth Argyle B Manager, Dan Inch, said: “Receiving the trophy at Wembley is a fantastic end to a great season for the players.
“The commitment of the players to travel the distances we do is exceptional, and to then perform each and every time on the pitch is a credit to the young players.”
Speaking on the successes of the Cornwall Post 16 programme this season, Cornwall Post 16 Education & Football Development Manager Jamie Day said: “I’m delighted with how the academic year has gone with the students’ football development and education.”
“All of the students have shown a fantastic attitude and applied themselves brilliantly from start to finish. We want to provide our students with the best playing experience and opportunities within the world of sport whilst they are on our course, which is something the students have embraced all year.
“As the course lead, I couldn’t be prouder of the staff and students for making it a really enjoyable year.”
