PLYMOUTH Argyle Cornwall again came close to earning their first league win of the season in a windy encounter with Luton Town.
We controlled much of the first half and Ben Gibbs causing serious problems for the Hatters. He earned his reward on 35 minutes, reacting quickest to prod home from close range.
Conditions favoured Luton in the second period and they created numerous chances in a powerful performance. Gibbs did manage to grab a second goal but we eventually lost 5-2. Spirits remain high in the camp and confident that first win will arrive soon.
Plymouth Argyle SC, based at Home Park, lost 4-2 against Crystal Palace, conceding two early goals. Kobi Cox slotted home after 18 minutes to bring us back in the game and that’s how it stayed until half time.
Palace made it 3-1 on the hour but Harvey Tomlinson responded by finishing well from the edge of the box on 65 minutes. It stayed that way until 88 minutes when Palace sealed their win with a late decider.
A disappointing day for Plymouth Argyle A, going down to a 5-1 defeat at a very strong Bournemouth oufit. The home side raced into a 3-0 lead and, despite a stunning free-kick from Josh Angel-Craven, the final score was a frustrating 5-1 loss.
