England call-up for Mia and Taya

Argyle Under 16 girls players Mia Endacott and Taya Pomfret have been called up by the England Under 16s National Talent Camp in August.

This follows the recent news that Roxy Thomas was called up for the Under 15s National Talent Camp and Mari Ward and Mia were selected to represent their country after trials at the England camp in the Lioness’s Talent Pathway.

Talented striker Mia has been with the club since the age of nine. Mia plays her local grassroots football for Lakeside Under 15 Boys and plays at county level for Devon Under 16s. Mia had the honour of making her international debut for the under 16s against Portugal last season and was recently named a ‘local legend’ by the Trust, as part of the Premier League’s ‘Kicks’ programme, for her dedication to football and for inspiring other young people.

Taya is a centre back who has also been at the club since the age of nine. Taya is a great character and has shown her versatility having played in midfield and defence during her time with Argyle.

Argyle Community Trust Head of Women & Girls Football, Ryan Perks said: “I am delighted for the girls and this further demonstration of the strength of our thriving female player pathway here in Plymouth.”

“Mia and Taya are incredibly talented footballers and are a pleasure to work with. I look forward to continuing their journey, further developing them, and watching their progress in the future.”

Congratulations Mia and Taya!
