As you may have seen via twitter @PAFC_Futsal or @Mike_Foley or @slateeford or WWAsurveyors
The flight was good and left/arrived on time. A couple of nervous flyers with eyes tightly shut as we took off and landed – they want to remain anonymous and we will honour both Kyle and Ross’s wishes.
We were then picked up at JFK by a traditional Yellow New York School Bus. This took us right through the City and allowed brief sightings of Flushing Meadows, Red Bull Arena, Men in Black House, The Nets and, of course, the unbelievable New York Skyline.
We checked into the Comfort Suites Newark and had 30 minutes before the bus then departed for Liberty Island to take in the Statue of Liberty and then we spent some time at the Empty Sky Memorial. It was quite a moving and emotional stop, which showed where the Twin Towers would have been situated within the NYC Skyline.
The temperature started to drop quite a bit towards 6pm as we headed off to Chillis for dinner. The lads then had a half hour in Super Walmart before heading back to the Hotel.
A very good (tiring) start.
