A PARTNERSHIP between Argyle Community Trust and the Prince’s Trust is already yielding results with 10 young people moving through to an FA Level 1 qualification in football coaching.

A two-week short course of which the principles are to re-engage 16-25 year-olds who are currently out of Education, Employment or Training, the programme has proved to be an inspiring success.

During the course, all participants worked on their inter-personal and professional skills, such as their CV, interview techniques and one-to-one meetings to try to figure out their potential long-term plans.

They were enrolled on to the FA Level 1 in football coaching, of which ten of them passed, were tutored throughout the course by Devon FA tutor, Alex Watson, a former professional footballer himself.

Jack Talbott was one of fourteen people enrolled on the Prince’s Trust course and his story epitomises the spirit and significance of the programme.

Community Cohesion Officer Daniel Hart, who oversaw the programme in partnership with Jason Stone of the Prince’s Trust said: “This course has been fantastic, some of the journeys that these young people have been on are extremely challenging, the work that the Prince’s Trust do is incredible and it’s been a pleasure for us to work alongside them.”
