Home Park Comedy Fundraiser for Project 35

We are thrilled to announce a spectacular evening of comedy at Home Park Stadium courtesy of local entertainment events company – A Press of Suspects {presents} with all money raised going to the vital community outreach work of Project 35.

There will be an array of local comedy talent from Plymouth and Devon performing on the night including Suzy Bennet, David Arnold, Edward Tripp, and Willtordian Ballorian Edwardian.

In keeping with the spirit of Project 35, tickets are available on a “pay what you can afford” basis, with a minimum price of £8. This will allow comedy goers to pay more for their ticket, elevating the support of the event for Project 35, but will give improved access to the local community to attend an affordable evening of entertainment at the Theatre of Greens, with all money raised going to Project 35.

Project 35, in partnership with Ginsters, is our landmark social action initiative aimed at reducing poverty in Plymouth, Devon, and Cornwall through a comprehensive campaign of fund-raising, awareness raising, social outreach, food donations, education, and charity support. The project has received overwhelming support from Argyle supporters, community members, partners, and organisations since its inception.

Event organiser and comedian Will Skillington said: “It is an honour to be able to give something back to the city and we can’t wait to entertain the community with our comedy, and support Project 35.”

The event is taking place on Thursday, 6 April, doors open from 7pm and the entertainment will commence at 8pm for those aged 16 plus. Tickets are ‘pay what you can afford’ with a minimum ticket price of £8 and are available now via the Ticket Link. You can get more information by contacting William Skillington on apressofsuspects@gmail.com or 07947 880 557.

Performing on the night will be:

Suzy Bennet: A born and bred Plymothian! Former Butlins Redcoat and proud Devonian Suzy ‘accidentally’ won an award on her 6th gig and has kept the laughs, and her accent, going strong ever since, performing around the UK as well as overseas. She is the voice of the ‘Plymouth Trails’ tour app and was recently named as one of the ‘50 Coolest people from Plymouth’ by the Evening Herald (It was in no particular order, so she assumes she came third after Dawn French and Wayne Sleep).

David Arnold: A Welsh man by birth but Plymouth based for 10 years, David is a regular on the comedy circuit, mixing mainstream and alternative material with aplomb! A warm and engaging presence, David has recently won through to the finals of British Comedian of the Year! www.welshdavecomedy.com

Edward Tripp: A stand-up comedy poet, writer, and visual artist living in Devon. Edward has previously brought his unique brand of spoken word to nights and festivals such as Spork! Poetic Licence, and WOMAD. “Strange, surreal and side-splittingly funny” – Razz Magazine. “Dave Allen meets David Lynch” – The Spoils Collective.

All hosted by:

Willtordian Ballorian Edwardian: The baby of the bunch moved to Plymouth four years ago and performed his first ever stand-up set in the city. A now full-time comic he has been wowing audiences with his unique brand of comedy. A man with a penchant for owls and a celebration of the absurd silliness of life! Expect chaos, music, prizes, and owls….
