AFTER a spectacular time enjoying outdoor activities in the glorious sunshine, youngsters on one of our National Citizenship Service (NCS) programmes have made a huge impact in the local community.

As part of the NCS project, participants are asked to engage in a Social Action Project, raising funds and awareness across our region.

This summer, one particular group raised £942 for Plymouth Soup Run, a community and faith driven providing free food and hot drinks to homeless people in Plymouth.

The youngsters also spent two nights on the streets working with St Andrews Church, distributing food and 100 survival packs created with their sponsorship money.
