A LONG trip to Norwich City resulted in a narrow defeat for the Plymouth Argyle education squad in the National Youth League.
The Pilgrims started very brightly and went close with an early opportunity. The hosts gradually settled and opened the scoring from close range on 15 minutes.
Argyle drew level when a vicious cross into the box was headed in by Jack Rhead on 35 minutes, only for Norwich to immediately regain the lead. The home side extended their lead to 3-1 immediately after the restart but this prompted the Pilgrims into a second-half siege.
Numerous chances were created and the deficit was halved with a composed finish from Reece Thompson. The Pilgrims were all over a very strong Norwich side and very unfortunate not to come home with a point.
