IT is a top of the table clash for Argyle in the Peninsula League Division 1 West on Saturday afternoon at Seale Hayne.

A win for the Pilgrims will see us overtake the visitors by one point and with four games in hand on Penryn, it would be a big statement in our bid to put pressure on the leaders Mousehole.

A solid 4-0 victory at Dobwalls last weekend was a great return to action for Argyle after nine weeks without a game and another brace for Louis Rooney shows the form of an extremely dangerous striker at this level.

“We know Penryn are a good side and it was a thrilling 3-3 draw at their place earlier in the season,” said Head Coach Kevin Nancekivell. “Both teams are pushing hard to put pressure on Mousehole at the top, so the ingredients are there for a big game.

“It will be a tough challenge but I was very happy with our win at Dobwalls on Saturday. We were very efficient in our work and when the pitch started to cut up, the lads adapted very well to the conditions.

“There is no doubt Seale Hayne will be heavy again this weekend but we trained there in midweek before the rain came in, and we have to be optimistic and prepared for the game to go ahead.”
