THE Pedal 4 Pounds riders are now underway in the South West Challenge of visiting nine professional football clubs over three days.
Starting from Swansea on Wednesday, the riders headed to Cardiff City, Newport County, Bristol City, Bristol Rovers, Yeovil Town, Exeter City, Torquay United and, finally, a triumphant return to Home Park here in Plymouth.
However, there will be some very important fuel provided for the journey courtesy of Tesco, who have kindly supplied our riders with provisions of food and drink to keep them going over the next three days.
Plymouth Argyle Football Club and Argyle Community Trust would like extend our gratitude to Tesco for their extremely kind gesture. As they say, every little helps, and in this case, a little is a lot.
Pedal 4 Pounds is raising money for the Chestnut Appeal for Prostate Cancer, as well as supporting the Argyle Community Trust and the Green Taverners’ good causes. The 2015 Pedal 4 Pounds event raised £13,900 for charity and the ambition for this year is to smash this record.
The ride concludes with a celebratory lap of the Home Park pitch during half-time of the pivotal first-team game against Dagenham & Redbridge this weekend.
