Impact Story: How Foulston Park’s new Youth Hub supported Ajay into employment

Ajay was referred to Argyle Community Trust’s new Youth Hub at The Hub at Foulston Park by a work coach at the local Jobcentre to give him the support he needed for his future.

The Hub, working in partnership with the Department for Work and Pensions, helps young people aged 16–24 build confidence, gain skills, and move towards positive futures in education, training, apprenticeships, and employment.

Ajay engaged with the Youth Hub programme over four intensive employability support sessions designed to enhance his employability and prepare him for the modern workforce. Throughout his time with the programme, Ajay received practical, targeted support to refine his CV, navigate job applications, practice interview techniques, and explore employment opportunities.

A pivotal milestone in Ajay’s journey was attending a Titan Recruitment event, organised through the Youth Hub, which helped reduce his anxiety around employment and provided a pathway into agency work.

As a result of this tailored support, Ajay has successfully secured warehouse employment, and the programme has delivered a profound personal transformation. Ajay reports feeling significantly more confident, independent, and positive about his future, with clearer career goals and improved job search skills.

Ajay described the programme as very beneficial, stating: “The help has been so useful, and the opportunities have been there for me. Titan Recruitment came in and made me less anxious. The programme broke down barriers for me.” He also rated the programme 10/10 for recommending it to friends and family.
