ARGYLE Community Trust is looking to enter the Guinness Book of World Record with one very long dribble this summer.
Players from the Argyle Futsal Scholarship in Carn Brea, Cornwall will take on the challenge of beating a record set just under three years ago in the faraway lands of Cumberland County, Nova Scotia, Canada.
The current record holder, Mr Doug McManaman, entered history for dribbling a football continuously without breaks and the ball always moving for 5,200 feet, or 9.848 miles.
The Futsal Scholars have been set the challenge of beating this mark by dribbling the ball for 10 miles around the Carn Brea Leisure Centre Athletics Track.
Aside from breaking a world record, the scholars will be raising sponsorship money for their annual tour of the USA, which is a wonderful opportunity for these talented players to sample life, and Futsal, in a completely different environment.
If you would like more information on our Futsal scholarship, the world record attempt or to join the project as a sponsor, please contact Sports Education Manager Mike Foley on mike.foley@pafc.co.uk or call 01752 562561 ext.4
