We are delighted to be reflecting on another successful and exciting ACT Corporate Cup tournament!
On Friday 22nd, we invited our corporate partners to take part in a 5-aside football competition at Manadon Sports Hub to raise funds and awareness for our Compassionate Café sessions.
16 teams battled it out for the chance to win the prestigious ACT Corporate Cup and Plate Competitions.
Thanks to their support, we raised £1,950 for our Compassionate Café sessions, which are delivered in partnership with St. Luke’s Hospice and is a community-led movement run by Compassionate Friends to reach out to members of the community that are experiencing loss, bereavement or may be affected by life-limiting illness themselves.
A massive congratulations to Hamoaze House who took home the cup this year, and to Active Through Football – Honicknowle, for securing the plate!

A big well done to both PL Kicks and Ginsters, who finished as runners up in the cup and plate respectively, and to all our other teams.
Your support is highly valued, and we are proud to be working together to help improve lives in Plymouth, Devon, and Cornwall.
Speaking on the tournament, Fundraising & Events Officer Matt White said: “The ACT Corporate Cup is quickly becoming one of our favourite flagship fundraisers. Mainly because I don’t have to get the boots on myself!
“It’s a brilliant and fun way to bring local businesses together to support Argyle Community Trust, network, enjoy some well-natured games of football and, most importantly, fundraise for our Health & Wellbeing projects.
“These projects depend on fundraising events like these to thrive and they wouldn’t be possible without the support of local businesses and organisations, as well as our incredible staff and volunteers to help ensure the day is a great success.
“Over the past few years, we’ve been fortunate to receive enough support to fundraise for projects that assist local people with Cerebral Palsy, mental health challenges, bereavement, and local veterans. We’re excited to continue hosting these tournaments to make an even greater impact on those in our community who need support the most.
“At the Trust, we’re committed to promoting health and wellbeing across our community. The ACT Corporate Cup embodies our goal of improving local people’s lives through sport, so it’s always brilliant to see so many local businesses come together to take part in these fundraisers and showcase the strength of our community support.”
A big thank you and a well done to Acronyms, Active Through Football – Honicknowle, Arcadis, Azets, Babcock, Bishop Fleming, Bright, Francis Clark, Ginsters, Hamoaze House, Mark Holt, PAFC staff, PL Kicks, Plymouth Active, Westcotts, and Wolferstans for taking part and we’re already looking forward to the next one!
