IT was a weekend of contrasts for the two Plymouth Argyle Ladies sidesd, as our first-team recovered from an early setback to record a dominant victory and a late penalty rescued a point for the Development squad.

Hosting Brislington Ladies in the FA Womens Premier, it was a sluggish start for the Pilgrims, falling behind to an early goal from the visitors.

The response was ruthless in its efficiency, as strikes from Kayley Lane, Becky Dandridge and Natasha Knapman made it 3-1 at the break. The second-half attacking display, resulting in a 9-1 triumph and doubles for Lane and Dandridge, plus further goals from Amber Pollock, Becky Atkins, Katie Middleton and Kayleigh Brown.

The Development squad, meanwhile, played out a tense local derby against Plympton Ladies and, despite creating plenty of chances on the day, we needed a penalty from Alex Hugh to eventually rescue the point.
