ARGYLE Community Trust will take part in the National Kicks Cup in Nottingham this week for a shot at football glory.
Seven young boys and girls who have been part of the Kicks project in Plymouth will make the journey north to take on teams from Arsenal, Brentford, Nottingham Forest and Southampton.
The Kicks project aims to build safer, stronger communities through the development of young peoples' potential. This allows young people the opportunity to engage in positive activities, which then deters them from anti-social behaviour.
The sessions allow young people, including minority groups, to get involved in their community, breakdown barriers and make steps towards personal achievements.
Currently, Kicks sessions run at Honicknowle Youth Centre on Monday and Wednesday between 6-8pm and Friday evenings between 5-8 p.m. We also have an additional session at Woodfield Primary MUGA in Whitleigh on a Friday from 7-9pm.
