AGED 16-18 and not sure what to do next? Not sure which course to take at college or if further education is for you? Or do you want to go into employment but don’t know what you want to do? Or maybe you are struggling to get on the first rung of the employment ladder?
Our 12-week traineeship programme will help you find out more about the world of work and help you to take the next steps that are right for you.
What’s Involved?
For 12 weeks, you’ll be a trainee at Plymouth Argyle. You’ll spend two days per week on work placement doing a variety of roles within the club, which might include coaching, administration, hospitality, grounds maintenance, match-day duties or being a shop assistant.
You’ll spend a day developing employability skills, such as CV writing, interview techniques, money skills or problem solving. One day a week will also be spent developing your functional skills (If you don’t have English & Maths to GCSE grade C).
As a trainee, you will also take an FA Level 1 coaching qualification, as well as a Sports Leaders UK Level 2 qualification.
By the end of the programme, you’ll be in a much better position to choose your next step: into work with training, an apprenticeship, or into full-time education.
Financial help with travel is available for eligible trainees. The programme is also open for individuals up to the age of 24 years-old if they have a local authority sourced statement of disability.
Programmes will run from April. For more details and to register your interest contact Community Cohesion Officer Dan Hart on dan.hart@pafc.co.uk
