Okehampton College and Community Trust launch new partnership

Plymouth Argyle FC and Okehampton College are launching a fantastic new opportunity for Year 10 and Year 11 students.

During December and the through 2013/2014 Plymouth Argyle FC will be launching football coaching sessions for all Year 10 & 11 boys to attend on a regular basis at Okehampton College. Plymouth Argyle coaches will be in attendance every Monday and Friday, after school, from 3.30pm – 5.00pm.

Sessions are designed for those who want to improve their football ability and they will have the opportunity to understand how a professional football club works on a regular basis. This will be a unique opportunity for students at the college to interact and undertake sessions with professional coaches.

The offer does not, however, stop there as students will also have the opportunity to visit Home Park on a match day if they attend 5 sessions during January and February 2014. Plymouth Argyle FC coaches will   be on hand to come and visit some of the college fixtures to provide input and advice to those participating. There will also be the opportunity for all attendees to visit Plymouth Argyle FC training ground, Harpers Park, to watch the first team train take part in a question and answer session with a Plymouth Argyle player.

The coaching sessions are open to all Year 10 & 11 boys at the college with the first sessions taking place on Monday 2nd December & Friday 6th December. The focus of the sessions will be enjoyable but will also aim to improve young people’s development in football.

To get involved in these sessions, simply turn up at the Astroturf at 3.30pm on Monday 2nd or Friday 6th December Please ensure you have football kit and shin pads for the sessions.

Please remember these sessions do not stop you training or playing for your local teams. In fact, we encourage this and would like players to stay within local football.
