Mark Lovell Tom Potts (71) has been an ever-present member of the Argyle Community Trust walking football team for the past four years. An avid former local footballer himself, he found a renewed love for playing the game in the walking format, working with our coaches at Manadon Sports & Community Hub.
After representing the Trust and the football club at numerous tournaments and fixtures across the country with great success, Tom has been selected to play for the national over 70’s walking football squad! Having previously attended trials in Sutton Coldfield back in February of this year and impressed the selectors, only COVID-19 put a hold on his hopes to wear the three lions shirt as an international fixture versus Wales was postponed.
Now though, with the game back underway Tom is heading back to the training camp in the coming weeks and is hoping to gain his first England cap in the near future. Tom is also back to training here in Plymouth, twice a week at their Manadon home. A very well deserved congratulations from everyone at Argyle Community Trust, Tom and we look forward to hearing more about your England debut!
