PLYMOUTH Argyle’s Walking Football Team is proud to welcome Exeter City’s Walking Football Team for a game on the pitch at half-time of the Devon derby at Home Park on Saturday.
This is Argyle’s first fixture since their victory at St George’s Park where they won the Football League FA Cup.
For all involved, it will be a great chance for them to play in a stadium in front of their fans in a game that they all love. The Argyle team today is made up from the players that attend our walking football session on a Monday evening at Goals Soccer Centre in Plymouth.
Andy Yates from Argyle Community Trust said: “This is a very special opportunity for both teams to play a fixture on the Home Park pitch and all players involved are very excited.”
Walking Football is designed to help people keep an active lifestyle despite their age, as well as getting those back playing football who may have had to stop due to injuries. As the name suggests, Walking Football is non-contact and anyone that sprints, runs or jogs while the ball is in play will be penalised with a free-kick awarded to the other team.
We currently have spaces available at the sessions in Plymouth and have recently opened a new scheme in St Austell. To find out more, please call 01752 562561 ext.4 or email community@pafc.co.uk
