We’re delighted to announce a brand new Active Through Football session partnered with Warrior Within.
Warrior Within is a Plymouth-based project for veterans that aims to improve mental and physical health and combat PTSD and loneliness through the power of Muay Thai, meditation, cold water exposure therapy, poetry, and music.
Initially designed for veterans but now open to all, our sessions provide specialised support, core training, and a support group which are delivered by seasoned professionals at The Hub at Foulston Park.
These new Active Through Football sessions are for men and women over 18 years old and will initially be free of charge.
Sessions will start on Tuesday 15, April and will continue every Tuesday from 7:30-8:30pm in the Classic Activities Hall at The Hub at Foulston Park.
Trust Community Connections Lead Trevor Higgins said: “We are very much looking forward to the Active through Football programme collaborating with the Warrior Within Project to share our vision to get active through fitness.
“Stef brings a wealth of experience with him which will prove highly beneficial to participants looking to find their inner warrior again.
“Looking after all abilities, whether you want to talk through your problems or get involved physically, this programme caters for all.”
Warrior Within Managing Director, Stefan Daniel, said: “The Warrior Within Programme is thrilled to be working alongside Argyle Community Trust, offering physical and mental health support within the Plymouth community.
“Having worked with veterans for a long time this is a tried and tested program that can help people suffering from depression and isolation and it provides a safe environment and comradery for those who need it.”
“We welcome all abilities, ages and genders as we’re committed to supporting all who step through our door.”
