WE are delighted to announce that Torpoint Community College has been awarded NCS Champion School Status for their outstanding work on the National Citizen Service programme.
Matt Evans from Torpoint Community College was presented with the award at Home Park by Argyle Community Trust coach Ben Cross, a former student at the College and a NCS graduate.
Champion School status is awarded to local schools who have thoroughly embraced NCS and the ethos of delivering Social Action Projects. It is a measure of their achievement that only six other schools in Devon and Cornwall have met the criteria to receive this award.
Torpoint Community College has worked in partnership with Argyle Community Trust in establishing engaging recruitment events for potential participants and parents, as well as providing ongoing support for NCS.
We would like to thank Mr Evans and Torpoint Community College for their wonderful support, and we look forward to sharing more NCS success in the future.
The National Citizen Service is a government run-initiative which is delivered to schools and young people across Plymouth by Argyle Community Trust. The programme is aimed at 15-17 year-old individuals to build their employability skills whilst having fun and forging new friendships.
