We were delighted to welcome 19 new scholars on to the programme, joining our second-year students for the start of an exciting two-year journey on the Trust’s Futsal Education scheme.
The scholars have already embarked on a series of fitness tests, gym sessions and professional training, which will dovetail with their classroom work in the overall aim of achieving the Btec Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport Performance and Excellence.
As a Trust, we are also thrilled to announce the enhancement of our partnership with Carn Brea Leisure Centre will see the development of a new classroom and the construction of the Argyle Cornwall Office within the Centre, which can only improve the learning experience for our scholars.
Arguably the highlight of a breathless first week, however, was our participation in the National Futsal League Opening Festival at Swindon’s National Futsal Arena.
Argyle entered three teams and topped all three groups against sides from Southampton, Southend United, Exeter City, Bristol City, Bristol Rovers, Portsmouth and Cheltenham Town.
Our scholars performed superbly on the day and showed impressive maturity in their first taste of competitive Futsal.
